About

I am a professional school counselor working at a 6A public high school in Central Texas. This 22-23 school year is my ninth year in education, and I absolutely adore working with teens. I am currently finishing my Masters in Counseling & Development to earn my certification and also my license as a Licensed Professional Counselor; I plan on continuing to work with teens, both in school and in the community, and helping guide them to become the best versions of themselves.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I am blessed to be able to start my career as a Professional School Counselor early while still obtaining my Masters. After I graduate this December, I will begin on the 3,000 supervised hours to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. I will then either work as an LPC part time (evenings, weekends, or virtually) or will eventually switch from being a school counselor to a LPC in private practice.

Graduate school interests

My interests right now in grad school are simply to excel academically and to join as many honor societies and professional associations as possible. I appreciate the opportunity to attend Lamar University online as it allows me the flexibility to continue my career as a full-time teacher and also honor my family time as a mother of three.

Outside the classroom

My hobbies right now are roller skating with my family, working in the yard, and reading self-help books. I love staying active with my three boys as much as possible, but I also need my quiet time. Keeping up my front and back yards gives me something to work on alone that I find satisfying and my books are my source of personal and inward growth.
