Narumi Kobayashi

I am Narumi Kobayashi, an international student from Japan.

In 2014, I came to the United States to take ESL classes during summer, and I went to Truckee Meadows Community College from fall semester. Studying abroad is my dream since I was a child, and my dream came true finally!

I got Associate degree in Truckee Meadows Community College. At the beginning, I had a hard time to communicate in English. Although I studied English in Japan, especially speaking was still hard for me. To overcome this situation, I tried to get involved student government association and experienced election. As a result, I elected and fulfilled duties 2015-2016 academic year as a Senator at Large. I especially worked on advertising such as flyers and short video for our SGA hosts events, and also marketing video for future international students. According to those experiences, my English skill became improve a lot, learned leadership skill and sociality, and becoming the key fact to start Journalism study.

I graduated from Truckee Meadows Community College in May 2016 and transferred the University of Nevada, Reno as Journalism major and communication minor. I love to study Journalism, and especially I am interested in sports broadcasting and visual Journalsim.
