About

I was born in Fountain Valley, California, and raised in Taiwan since the age of 3, now studying under Professor Dang Thai Son at Oberlin Conservatory. I almost died from a condition called ITP, or Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia when I was 6 months old. My health issue and experience help me realize the power of love and give, that my musical gift can someday help others in need, and that through music I have the ability to give back to society. Finally healthy and blessed with a gift to play the piano, I started to learn how to play the piano under the guidance of my mother at the tender age of six, and by age twelve I won the first prize of National Student Music Competition in Taiwan and performed my first two solo recitals at Wansha Performance & Arts Center in Tainan and Taipei National Concert Hall during 2012-2013.

Prior to entering college, I worked with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra at the Piano Texas Music Festival, the Philharmonic Orchestra in Tokyo, Japan, and the Berliner Symphony in Tainan, Taiwan, in addition to collaboration with Hershey Symphony in Harrisburg, PA, and Hunan Youth Symphony Orchestra in Changsha, China. While thriving musically, I stay active in participating in social and charitable events. After winning the Presidential Award in 2012 in Taiwan, I donated half of the award money to the local Yong-Fu Elementary School in Tainan, Taiwan as an educational fund for the needed. In addition, I have also taken part in the “Back to Bach” Project as the Regional Director in Southern Taiwan since April 2017, sharing classical music with the younger generation and underprivileged. In the future, I aspire to not only better myself in the musical field but also to participate in more charity and social projects.
