Nakeya Fontenette

Hello! My name is Nakeya Fontenette. I am currently a teacher/caregiver at SMILE Headstart in New Iberia, La, where I reside. I am a competent, outgoing person with a bubbly personality. I have a 1 year old son who means the world to me. I have been involved in several organizations since high school. I was the president of Renaissance Club, the secretary of National Honor Society, and a member of SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) while attending high school at Westgate. I became CNA and Pharmacy Tech certified while in high school, and I am CPR certified. I worked as a counselor at summer camp in New Iberia for 3 years where I took care of children. Before attending Northwestern, I attended Nicholls, ULL, and SLCC. I graduated from SLCC with a 4.0 in Early Childhood Education. I am currently obtaining my Bachelors Degree at Northwestern in General Studies with a concentration in Social Sciences. After I graduate, I would like to get my certification in Early Childhood so I can become a teacher in the public school system.
