About

Since 2012, I have been working as a registered nurse in the acute care setting. I believe my experience as a nurse and my ambition to become more of a leader within nursing have all yielded to my decision to pursue higher education at this time in my career. I am now taking the next step to achieve a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in order to provide care for patients in an advanced position as a nurse practitioner. Nurse practitioners have an important role within acute care, and I recognize how I can be part of making a difference for patients by serving at this level of nursing practice.
After completing the MSN program, I am confident I will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to have sound clinical judgement—allowing me to be a better advocate for patients and deliver exceptional, quality care. Furthermore, being of Native American descent and a member of The Cherokee Tribe of Northeast Alabama, I feel compelled to help make a difference for this underserved population that has so many existing challenges today. As a nurse practitioner, this would be such a fulfilling and rewarding opportunity because I will possess a great capability to not only help individuals of this population, but to better the entire community.
