About
My name is Nicholas Smith and I am from St. Louis, Missouri. I am currently studying education at STLCC Meramec. I was born with a rare heart disease called Hypo Plastic Left Heart Syndrome, which means I am missing an entire side of my heart. I had my first of three open heart surgeries when I was only 3 days old. This changed my life forever. I was hard to keep up with sports with my class mates, but it pushed me to work harder to be like them. In October of 2016, I wasn't diagnosed with a liver disease, which is far less scarier than HPLHS, but it still scared me and my family. Doctors said in 30 years I will need a new heart and liver.
I am looking to become a high school history teacher one day. I loved high school, and it was mostly because of my teachers.I had really strong connections with my teachers especially my senior year. I was involved in Varsity roller hockey and Spanish Honors Society. I am not at STLCC Meramec.
