About
Hello,
My name is Nichole Wagner and I am graduating Appalachian State University with a B.A. in anthropology, with a focus on archaeology. I will also have a minor in geography and a certificate in G.I.S. My hope is to use my knowledge of G.I.S. applications in junction with Archaeology. I am very interested in prehistoric Archaeology, and I hope to travel all around America doing archaeology field technician jobs and more. Currently, I am an archaeological laboratory manager at Appalachian State, I've been a field school assistant twice, have had a field school myself, and my current project is using a Trimble, ArcPad, and the Total Station to make a digital representation of a cave site. In my spare time when I'm not in the lab or surveying sites, I am training for a marathon, own a small business, and brew mead from ancient recipes.

In my spare time I (and apparently my Siberian Husky) are training for a full marathon of 26.2 miles on the New River. I last ran a half marathon in Charlotte, and I am eager to complete this one. I also really enjoy arts and crafts, which I utilized in my small business where I restore old pallets and turn them into signs and art. I have an Etsy shop for it and a booth in the farmer's market in the summer time. I also enjoy brewing beer and mead with my boyfriend, especially by using old recipes. Currently, I am brewing a mead from a recipe from 1100! Otherwise, I play violin, draw portraits for friends and family, and hike the beautiful blue ridge area of Western NC. So far I've spent just a few days on the Appalachian Trail (our water filter broke!) but I hope to complete it in full one day.
