I now aim to start my own independently run animation short film and television studio after I graduate using money, I have earned from film festivals and internships from animation studios. It will be based in Austin due to its status as a major city, and their own reputation as a prominent hub for animation due to its various festivals and companies located there. In the beginning, it will be a small business, with only three to five people working in various positions but hopefully it will grow to at least fifty by the end of the first year. The plan to produce various short films that tell culturally resonant and experimental stories that cannot be told in traditional industries, fostering greater representation for minority animators to tell their stories and showing audiences diverse cultures around the world. They will be distributed through animation film festivals around Austin either local or high profile, be sold to streaming services for a fee, or on video-sharing sites such as YouTube or Vimeo due to their prominence as video sharing sites. There will also be a secondary stream of income from merchandising deals of the movies to earn extra profits outside of conventional distribution. This will earn us not only a consistent stream of income, but also more attention in the independent animation sphere of influence, with the goal at the end of those ten years affiliating with an independent distributor to produce our first feature film to be shown across the nation.
