About
I am a dedicated University of New Mexico student pursuing a second bachelor’s degree through the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, with the goal of becoming a registered nurse and serving the people of New Mexico. I previously earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Finance with honors from UNM and spent six years working as a telephone small business banker, where I developed strong skills in communication, problem-solving, advocacy, and helping individuals make informed decisions.
My decision to transition into nursing was inspired by my personal experience in 2024, when my daughter was born prematurely and I was hospitalized with complications from preeclampsia. Experiencing the compassion and support provided by my healthcare team during one of the most vulnerable times in my life motivated me to pursue a career where I can provide that same support to others. I have completed my nursing prerequisite coursework and have been accepted into UNM’s rigorous 16-month accelerated nursing program.
I am currently unemployed and fully devoted to completing my nursing education. Financial assistance would allow me to focus on my studies and clinical training while preparing for a career dedicated to improving the health and well-being of individuals and families in New Mexico. My long-term goal is to work in an ICU and provide compassionate, holistic care, particularly to underserved communities. I am committed to using my previous education, professional experience, and nursing education to serve others and make a meaningful difference in my community.
