About

My name is Oksana, and I am originally from Ukraine. I came to the United States to pursue my dream of becoming a Doctor of Nursing Practice. I am incredibly excited to be a nursing student because my ultimate goal is to first become a Cosmetic Nurse Injector, and then to focus my Master's degree on becoming a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Dermatology. I plan to gain extensive experience in this field and eventually open my own medical clinic that integrates cutting-edge technology, where I can help patients focus on preventative medicine.

Currently, I work as a Medical Assistant in a Dermatology clinic, where I am gaining valuable hands-on experience. I also volunteer at a hospital, as I am passionate about helping others and making a difference in people’s lives.

I look forward to continuing my journey in nursing and making a positive impact on the healthcare community in the USA.

Goals and interests

Career goal

My intended career path is to initially specialize as a Cosmetic Nurse Injector after completing my nursing education. I am passionate about helping patients enhance their appearance and self-confidence through non-invasive treatments. Following this, I plan to further my education by pursuing a Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner with a focus on Dermatology.

Ultimately, my long-term goal is to combine my clinical skills and passion for aesthetics by opening my own medical clinic. I envision this clinic as a place where innovative technologies are used to promote preventative medicine, empowering patients to take control of their health and wellness. I am committed to gaining extensive hands-on experience and expanding my expertise to provide the highest level of care to my future patients.

Graduate school interests

My primary interest for graduate school is to pursue a Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner (NP), with a specific focus on Dermatology. I am passionate about dermatologic care, especially in the areas of preventative medicine and aesthetic treatments. I aim to expand my knowledge of skin health, conditions, and treatments to provide comprehensive care to my future patients.

Graduate school will allow me to deepen my understanding of advanced nursing practices and enhance my clinical skills, which will be essential as I work toward my goal of becoming a Dermatology Nurse Practitioner. I am particularly excited about the opportunity to engage in research and gain hands-on experience that will help me develop a well-rounded, evidence-based approach to patient care.

I am also eager to learn from experts in the field, connect with peers, and utilize the resources available in graduate programs to advance my skills in dermatology, aesthetics, and preventative health practices.

Outside the classroom

Outside of my academic and professional pursuits, I am passionate about staying active and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I am a professional swimmer, which has taught me discipline, endurance, and the importance of setting and achieving goals. Swimming has also instilled in me the value of teamwork, focus, and perseverance.

In addition to swimming, I love snowboarding and enjoy the thrill of the sport during the winter months. Snowboarding allows me to embrace adventure and challenge myself in new ways, while also appreciating the beauty of nature.

I am also a professional runner, and long-distance running is something I dedicate myself to regularly. It helps me clear my mind, stay fit, and maintain balance in my busy life. These hobbies not only contribute to my physical well-being but also foster resilience, which I carry into my nursing studies and future career.
