About
I am currently a graduate student in the Master of Public Health program at New York University. The poor state of accessible health care in my country and other developing countries fueled my desire to study Public Health. While working as a medical doctor, I had the opportunity to work with patients from different socioeconomic classes and witnessed firsthand the glaring health inequities among these classes. The realization that health outcomes worsened as one descends down the social gradient ignited in me the passion to ensure that quality healthcare is readily available to every individual irrespective of age, gender, race, sexual orientation or socioeconomic status.
I strongly believe that the access to quality healthcare is a fundamental human right for every individual. I currently work as an intern at HealthRight International, a non profit organization that works with vulnerable populations around the world to provide access to quality healthcare. Their commitment to reducing health disparities, particularly among women and children in patriarchal societies through health education, aligns perfectly with my personal values.
I aspire to work with diverse communities globally to improve health outcomes through behavioral change, developing innovative service delivery models to improve healthcare access and proffering feasible solutions to global health issues.
