Goals and interests

Career goal

My intended career path is to become a faculty member in civil engineering with a focus on concrete materials, structural behavior, and emerging smart reinforcement systems. I aim to build an academic program that advances the understanding of concrete performance under environmental and mechanical demands, with particular attention to innovative materials such as shape memory alloys and adaptive prestressing technologies. Through a combination of experimental research, numerical modeling, and industry collaboration, I plan to develop solutions that extend the service life of concrete infrastructure and address national needs in resilience and sustainability. Teaching is also a central part of my career goals, and I hope to mentor future engineers by creating courses that connect fundamental mechanics with modern research trends. I am committed to producing high quality scientific work, contributing to professional committees, and building partnerships with transportation agencies and research centers. Ultimately, I want to establish myself as a leader in concrete engineering, supporting the development of safer bridges, more durable transportation systems, and innovative design methods that integrate advanced materials and data driven approaches.

Outside the classroom

Outside of my academic work, I enjoy activities that help me stay balanced, creative, and connected to my community. I am committed to regular fitness and long cardio sessions, which help me maintain discipline and focus during demanding research periods. Cooking is another hobby I value, especially preparing simple stir fry meals and exploring new recipes that fit a healthy lifestyle. I also enjoy photography, particularly capturing campus moments and travel experiences, which allows me to express creativity and appreciate small details in daily life. Reading about technology, engineering innovations, and personal development keeps me curious and motivated. I like participating in volunteer activities when possible, especially community based events and cultural gatherings. These hobbies help me stay energized and grounded, and they provide a meaningful balance to my academic and research responsibilities.
