About
I am a New York–based journalist and graduate student currently pursuing an MBA in Business Administration with a marketing specialization at Monroe University. I previously earned a master’s degree in journalism and now report on culture, entertainment, and community issues across digital and local outlets. My work includes daily news reporting, live event coverage, and audience-focused storytelling for online readers and listeners. I have covered local businesses, neighborhood concerns, and national culture stories, and I’m used to pitching and publishing on tight deadlines.
Alongside reporting, I focus on audience growth and media strategy, using what I learn in my MBA program to better understand analytics, engagement, and newsroom planning. I have received a Gracie Award from the Alliance for Women in Media and was recognized as Best Content Creator at WRHU 88.7 FM for my reporting and broadcast work. I also serve as a national board representative with the Asian American Journalists Association, where I stay connected to industry conversations and mentorship.
As an international student building a career in US media, I balance full-time graduate study with active reporting. My goal is to continue working in newsrooms where I can report clearly, cover culture and public life, and contribute to editorial strategy and audience growth over time.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I plan to build a long-term career in journalism and digital media, starting with full-time reporting and editing roles that cover culture, public life, and community issues. Over time, I want to move into positions where I can combine reporting with editorial planning and audience strategy, such as senior reporter, editor, or audience growth lead within a newsroom. My goal is to work in media organizations that value clear reporting, responsible coverage, and strong engagement with readers. I am especially interested in roles that connect journalism with digital strategy, newsletters, social platforms, and multimedia storytelling.
- Graduate school interests
My MBA in Business Administration with a marketing specialization helps me understand how media organizations grow and sustain audiences. I study analytics, consumer behavior, brand strategy, and digital marketing, all of which apply directly to journalism today. I’m interested in using data to understand what readers engage with, how stories travel across platforms, and how newsrooms can build loyal audiences without sacrificing editorial standards.
This degree supports my journalism work by giving me skills in audience growth, revenue strategy, and media management. In the future, I want to use both my journalism training and MBA knowledge to help newsrooms expand reach, improve engagement, and build sustainable digital strategies while continuing to report and write.
