CI is locally known for their project, Ford Field, where they have installed lights on the roof to change colors and dance around. About

Hello, my name is Paige Carpenter. I have an associate degree in general studies from Macomb Community College. In my junior year in high school, I joined the early college program, hosted at my local community college in Macomb. This program states that you join your junior year, and you pledge to a thirteenth year. You first take an exam to see if you qualify. Then, depending on the school, one may have to go into a lottery among the other students at their school. I attended Chippewa Valley and in my sophomore year, I had to get in the lottery. I was the last name called. The program allows you to obtain your associate degree by the time you officially graduate high school. In your first year, one has a total of three college classes including a seminar class that is mandatory for students in their program for all three years. By Senior year, one will take four college classes, leaving only two high school classes. You are still able to walk with your original graduate class at the high school. Although you do not get your diploma. By the time of one's thirteenth year, it is strictly just college classes. This program also requires their students to get in internships in careers of their choice. Currently, I attend the university of Arizona where I am studying Architecture.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I live off lake Saint Claire, thirty minutes north of Detroit, Michigan. I knew I was going to be an Architect after interning at CI Engineering Solutions. After having the privilege of accompanying my boss to one of his meetings at a soon-to-be BOA steakhouse in downtown Detroit, I got to talk to the main architect on the site. Before, I always had a creative interest and would often build “homes” for my dolls. However, after talking to the architect I saw a new perspective on how important architecture is to society. My goal is to study architecture with an emphasis on urban planning so I can take part in rebuilding Detroit and its cities likewise. I’ve learned so much about how architecture can make one feel from experience from the change to a simple color on a road to a tall structure with tunnels running through. This fascinates me and with each of my projects, I incorporated how I would want to feel in the specific space. In design, I like to connect humans to their natural habitats, nature. I am very inspired by Babylonian-style architecture because I love the use of contours and bringing gardens into the architecture. As I continue through my Architecture career, I plan on completing my Bachelor of Architecture with an emphasis on urban planning. I also plan on taking classes related to real estate and getting my license once I have an architecture job. In the future, I also plan on starting up my own firm eventually.

California Pizza Kitchen is a local restaurant chain 17350 Hall Road, Clinton Township, Michigan 48038. Here I learned how to manage time and tables in order to keep clients and coworkers happy. This was hard during covid because we had half the number of tables, and it would often get busy. I also had to gather food and bag it up for 3rd party's like door dash and run food out to curbside pick up.

Miller Bros Creamery is a local small ice cream shop located just out of downtown Mount Clemans, 149 Dickinson Street in Michigan. The business has been a local staple. After the retirement of two great ladies my boss took over the business. In help of the transition, I was hired and would work with many customers looking to get ice cream or a quick snack. I worked stocking shelfs, handling the cash register, making shakes and scooping ice cream.
