About
I am pursuing a Leadership Studies B.A. with a concentration in Government & Public Policy and Business. I chose this field of study because I strongly desire to continue serving others in my community after retiring from the Active Duty Army. Witnessing the selfishness and chaos in our country's political landscape has been disheartening, and I am passionate about making a positive difference. As a Christian saved by God and filled with His Holy Ghost, my ultimate goal is to do the work of our Lord and Savior by allowing His light to shine through me. I aim to serve others, just as Jesus did, by helping the needy, housing the homeless, feeding the hungry, and providing medical care for the sick. I also want to contribute to eradicating divisiveness in our country's politics and fostering unity and peace that surpasses all understanding. Throughout my 28 years of service in the Army, I have had the privilege of mentoring and developing young Soldiers into great leaders, which gives me hope and confidence that positive change is possible.
In pursuing this field of study, I draw inspiration from verses in the book of Matthew. "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven" (KJV Bible 1769/2014, Mat. 5:14-16). These verses remind me that saints are called to be a light for the world, shining brightly and not hiding my faith or good works. Matthew also reminds us of the importance of helping those in need, emphasizing the significance of providing food, drink, welcome, clothing, and care to the less fortunate. "For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me" (KJV Bible 1769/2014, Mat. 25: 35-36). Lastly, a verse in the book of Micah guides my path, reminding me to seek justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God (KJV Bible 1769/2014 Bible Mic. 6:8). These verses serve as a foundation for my aspirations and actions, guiding me in my pursuit of positively impacting society and making a difference in the lives of others.

- Graduate school interests
After completing my undergraduate studies in Leadership with a concentration in Government & Public Policy and Business, my passion for positively impacting society will grow stronger. Therefore, I have set my sights on pursuing a Master's in Government and Public Policy. This advanced academic program will equip me with the necessary knowledge and skills to understand the complexities of governance and policymaking. With this educational foundation, I aim to pursue a career in public service and ultimately hold a public elected office, as it would provide me with a platform to make change effectively at a broader level.
My desire to hold public elected office stems from my deep-rooted belief in the power of Leadership and the potential to shape policies that address the critical issues affecting our communities. By occupying a position of influence, I can work towards eradicating divisiveness in politics and promoting unity and peace. In alignment with my Christian values, I aspire to serve others, just as Jesus did, by championing initiatives that help the needy, house the homeless, feed the hungry, and provide healthcare to the sick.
Enrolling in a Master's program in Government and Public Policy will not only enhance my understanding of policymaking but also allow me to develop a comprehensive understanding of the political landscape and its potential for positive change. Armed with this knowledge, I will be better equipped to navigate the intricacies of public administration, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and effectively advocate for policies that promote justice, kindness, and the community's overall well-being.
Through my previous experience in the Army, where I mentored and developed young leaders, I have witnessed the transformative power of effective Leadership. This experience has instilled in me a sense of hope that positive change is possible. By pursuing an M.A. in Government and Public Policy and subsequently holding public elected office, I am confident in my ability to contribute to steering the trajectory of our country toward unity, peace, and prosperity for all.
Overall, my desire to enroll in a Master's program in Government and Public Policy and eventually hold public elected office is driven by my unwavering commitment to serving others, my passion for politics, and my belief in the potential to effect meaningful change through Leadership and policy influence.
