About

I am an older graduate student that changed careers from engineering to therapy. In my previous career field working in the automotive industry and practicing and teaching martial arts with my boys for about 15 years, I incurred several injuries and surgeries requiring several physical therapy sessions. During each therapy session, I noticed the environment at the clinic was a positive one filled with purpose that my 25 years of engineering and purchasing jobs in the automotive industry were lacking. When the opportunity presented itself, I decided it was time to make a change and pursue a career in the world of therapy. I realized the fastest avenue was to attend PIMA Medical Institute and chose Occupational Therapy initially due to the opportunity to work with children. I am currently working as an Occupational Therapy Assistant with the plan to obtain my Master’s in Occupational Therapy and become a Registered Occupational Therapist with the ability to perform evaluations. I currently have Pediatric home health care experience and Geriatric Skilled Nursing Facility and Rehabilitation experience. In my working experience, I realize that by giving my patients control during our therapy sessions, I not only am able to build rapport much quicker but as well am able to have patients attain goals much quicker. I believe therapy sessions should be both fun and productive and strive to be my patient’s favorite therapist.
