About
Paula Shropshire Stuart is a compassionate and dedicated Physician Assistant, educator, and servant leader who brings heart, integrity, and excellence to everything she does. With nearly two decades of experience caring for patients with chronic gastrointestinal disorders and now shaping future healthcare providers as a PA educator, she leads with empathy, inclusivity, and purpose. Beyond her professional roles, she actively serves her community—volunteering in her church nursery, preparing meals for children, leading cleanup efforts, and connecting individuals to vital health resources. Paula believes in lifting others up, creating spaces where everyone feels valued, and leading by example in both word and deed.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
My intended job path is to continue serving as an educator in a Physician Assistant program, where I can help shape compassionate, skilled providers who are ready to make a difference. I also plan to stay active in clinical practice as a Physician Assistant, continuing to care for patients with a focus on dignity, empathy, and whole-person wellness. Beyond my professional work, I will keep volunteering to connect community members with resources that address social determinants of health, and I remain committed to serving through my church—whether it’s in the nursery, preparing meals, or supporting those in need. Looking ahead, I hope to start a patient advocacy group that will give individuals a stronger voice in their care and help bridge the gap between patients and the healthcare system. Through education, clinical care, service, and advocacy, I want to continue being a leader who brings hope and help to others.
- Graduate school interests
In graduate school, I am especially interested in exploring solutions that improve health outcomes through better access and stronger community connections. I am passionate about addressing housing insecurity and supporting initiatives that provide stable housing for individuals experiencing homelessness, recognizing that safe shelter is a foundational part of health. I am also committed to increasing access to clinical care, particularly through the use of digital health and telemedicine services that can reach underserved populations. In addition, I want to continue developing programs that connect individuals and families to essential services, such as food, transportation, and behavioral health support. My goal is to use what I learn to create practical, community-centered strategies that make healthcare more inclusive and equitable.
