About
I took great pride in being an active member of Phi Theta Kappa when I was in nursing school in 2000, working on my LVN degree. I've come up the "Nursing Ranks" first as a CNA, LVN, ADN, BSN and now, working on my FNP. I've participated in 2 medical missions and am planning a 3rd for 1/2016 and many more after. I serve as a mentor and preceptor for ADN students and am driven to be the best I can be in my chosen path as an FNP. Education and knowledge are important gifts and tools that I feel every one should strive to attain. As a nurse, I continually strive to educate and empower my patients to be their own, best self care advocates.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I currently work in the ER, I love nursing hours ie: 3-12's but really enjoy primary care and seeing patients who are interested in their healthcare and improving or maintain it. I deeply enjoyed clinicals at a rural clinic in my home town so, I am torn but, anticipate doing a bit of each as I also like seeing the interesting cases that do come into the ER. I have a passion for Medical Missions and am desiring to give back in that format here, in the US in underserved areas and intend to practice for and undetermined time in Alaska. I am enamored with "The Last Frontier".
- Graduate school interests
Working and going to school full time, leaves little time to pursue other interests but, I do enjoy horseback riding, my art work and gardening. I cherish my time at school and interaction with my classmates and professors; sharing ideas and growing.
- Outside the classroom
Horseback riding, camping, fishing, gardening, stained glass, watercolors, painting, mixed media art, reading
