Goals and interests

Career goal

My career path in corporate finance began to take shape during my time at Hawe Hydraulik SE in Germany. On my first day, my manager said something that stuck with me: “Opportunity favors those who are prepared.” That mindset shaped how I approached each task in controlling and led to a deeper interest in how financial decisions drive company performance.

Since then, I’ve developed a consistent interest in corporate finance, confirmed through three internships and leadership roles during my undergraduate studies. As captain of the tennis team and a resident assistant, I learned that true leadership means being proactive, supporting others, and adapting quickly to change. These experiences taught me how to lead with intention and resilience - traits essential for a career as a treasury analyst.

Now, I’m ready to turn preparation into progress. My long-term goal is to work in a global financial firm, contributing to high-level decision-making through data-driven insights and a solid understanding of market dynamics. With this foundation, I plan to grow into a leadership role in corporate finance.

Graduate school interests

Graduate school represents more than just an academic step for me - it’s a chance to deepen my understanding, expand my perspective, and sharpen the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving financial world. After completing my undergraduate degree, I realized that my curiosity and ambition to grow professionally were far from satisfied. I want to build on the foundation I’ve laid and position myself to make a meaningful contribution in the field of finance.

What makes Baruch even more compelling is its location in New York City- the global capital of finance. I will be spending the summer of 2025 interning in treasury operations at Marsh and McLennan in Manhattan, an experience that will immerse me in the dynamic financial environment I hope to build my career in. Starting my MS in Finance at Baruch shortly after, in the fall of 2025, will allow me to directly apply what I observe during the internship to my graduate studies. The city’s unparalleled access to global financial institutions, industry leaders, and career-building opportunities makes it the ideal place to deepen my education and grow professionally.

With this momentum, beginning my MS in Finance at Baruch will be the perfect bridge between real-world exposure and academic growth. It will give me the platform to expand on what I’ve learned, connect theory to practice, and develop into a forward-thinking finance professional. Graduate school isn’t just a continuation of my education - it’s a launchpad to turn knowledge, experience, and ambition into lasting impact.
