About
I'm Porsha A Stevenson, born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and my life is a story of resilience, determination, and success. As a former foster child, I’ve faced numerous challenges, but I’ve managed to rise above my circumstances to build a thriving career and become a strong advocate for others who have experienced similar hardships. My journey is about turning adversity into opportunity, and I now use my experiences to empower others to do the same.
As the founder and CEO of PTNBEAUTY, I’ve built a brand that offers a variety of beauty and skincare products, as well as clothing and accessories. For the past four years, I’ve worked tirelessly to grow my business, driven by my passion for self-care and helping others feel their best. PTNBEAUTY is not just a business to me—it’s a reflection of my entrepreneurial spirit and my belief in beauty as a tool for confidence and empowerment.
In addition to running my business, I’m deeply committed to making a difference through nonprofit work. I’ve been on the board of "We Care Foster Care" for the past four years, where I mentor and advocate for foster youth adults. By sharing my own experiences, I aim to give foster youth a voice and help them navigate the challenges of the system. I frequently speak at public events, hoping to inspire others by showing how I overcame my past to rewrite my story, and encourage them to do the same.
I’m also a key leader at the L.I.F.E Project, an organization dedicated to providing resources, housing, and mental health support for human trafficking survivors, foster youth, and young adults. As the head of the housing department, I’m focused on ensuring that survivors and youth receive the comprehensive support they need to rebuild their lives, addressing both their physical and emotional well-being.
Beyond my business and advocacy work, I bring over 10 years of experience in healthcare and customer service, where I’ve developed a deep understanding of compassionate care and the importance of serving others. These skills are central to both my business and nonprofit endeavors, and they drive me to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people I work with.
My commitment to personal growth is further reflected in my academic journey. In October 2024, I will earn my associate's degree in Business with a 4.0 GPA, and by 2025, I will complete my bachelor’s degree in Business Management. My dedication to education shows my desire to continuously enhance my skills and grow as a leader, entrepreneur, and advocate.
Through all that I do, I remain focused on inspiring others to rise above their circumstances and reach their full potential. I believe that anyone can rewrite their story, and my goal is to serve as a guiding light for those who need support, whether through my business, advocacy, or educational pursuits. My ultimate mission is to create lasting, positive change in the lives of others.

My Intended Job Path – Porsha A. Stevenson
Immediate Future (0–1 Year)Complete My Bachelor's Degree (2025)
I’m on track to finish my Bachelor's degree in Business Management, and I’m keeping my 4.0 GPA strong. Once I graduate, I’m ready to step into roles that will challenge me and help me grow. I’m looking at positions like Business Analyst, Operations Coordinator, or Project Assistant, where I can apply what I’ve learned and continue to build my skill set.
Expand PTNBEAUTYPTNBEAUTY is my baby, and I want to see it grow into something bigger. I’m working on expanding the brand, getting our name out there, and increasing product lines. My focus is on improving our social media marketing, collaborating with influencers, and building customer loyalty. I want PTNBEAUTY to be a go-to brand for beauty and lifestyle, and I’m determined to make it happen.
Grow My Advocacy and Public Speaking WorkServing on the boards of "We Care Foster Care" and the "L.I.F.E Project" has allowed me to share my story and make an impact. I want to continue growing my influence as a public speaker, advocating for foster youth and human trafficking survivors. I plan to connect with more organizations, attend conferences, and really build my platform to inspire and make change.
Mid-Term (1–3 Years)Step into Leadership Roles
With my Business Management degree and my experience running PTNBEAUTY, I’m ready to take on leadership roles. I’ll be looking for opportunities to manage teams or lead initiatives, whether it’s in a business setting or in the nonprofit world. I’m passionate about advocacy and helping others, so I want to merge my skills in business with my heart for service.
Launch or Scale a Social EnterpriseI have a vision of creating a social enterprise that provides job training and mentorship for foster youth or human trafficking survivors. I want to build something that not only generates revenue but also makes a difference in the lives of people who need it most. It’s about finding that balance between business and purpose.
Mentor Others and Share My ExperienceI’ve come a long way from my beginnings, and now it’s time to give back. I plan to start a mentorship program that combines business training with life skills. Whether it’s foster youth, aspiring entrepreneurs, or anyone who’s been through tough times, I want to share what I’ve learned and help others reach their potential.
Long-Term (3–5+ Years)Turn PTNBEAUTY into a National Brand
I see PTNBEAUTY becoming a household name. My goal is to expand the brand nationally, growing our product line, and maybe even breaking into physical retail stores. I’ll be looking at investors or business partnerships to scale, and I’m ready to take on whatever challenges come with that growth.
Lead in Advocacy and PolicyI’m not just here to run businesses—I want to make real change. In the long run, I see myself stepping into larger leadership roles in advocacy for foster youth and survivors of human trafficking. I’ll continue to push for reform and systemic change, using my voice and experience to make a difference on a bigger scale.
Move into Executive LeadershipUltimately, I want to step into executive roles—whether it’s in my own companies or with larger organizations. I’ll use my skills in business management and my passion for advocacy to lead with purpose, making an impact in both the business world and the nonprofit space.
Personal Growth and DevelopmentI’ll never stop learning. I’m open to getting more certifications, taking on new challenges, and continuing to build my skills. My network is going to grow, and I’ll make sure I’m surrounded by people who challenge me and support my vision. And through it all, I’ll stay grounded, maintaining a balance between work and my personal life so I can thrive in all areas.
- Graduate school interests
Given my background in business management and my passion for social causes, I’m exploring grad school options that align with both. Here are a few areas I’m considering:
Social Entrepreneurship: I’m drawn to this field because it focuses on creating social impact through innovative business models. It feels like a natural fit with my work in foster care and supporting human trafficking survivors.
Nonprofit Management: With my roles at We Care Foster Care and the L.I.F.E Project, advanced skills in managing and leading nonprofits would be incredibly valuable.
Public Administration: I’m interested in this because it would allow me to influence policy and manage public sector programs, which aligns with my advocacy work.
Business Analytics: Enhancing my skills in data-driven decision-making could help me optimize my online businesses and make informed strategic choices.
Mental Health Counseling: Given my involvement with survivors and young adults, specializing in mental health could deepen my ability to offer support and understanding.
Leadership and Organizational Development: This area could help me advance my leadership skills, benefiting both my business ventures and nonprofit work.
I’m excited about exploring these possibilities and seeing which path resonates the most with my goals and values.
- Outside the classroom
"I have a deep passion for music, which I find both relaxing and inspiring. I also love diving into books, as they offer new perspectives and knowledge. Working on my businesses is a significant part of my life, and I enjoy the creative and strategic challenges it brings. Spending quality time with my family is incredibly important to me, as they provide support and joy in my life. Additionally, I find great fulfillment in helping others, whether it's through my work with foster care and human trafficking survivors or through everyday acts of kindness."
