About

It is because of Dr. Cato T. Laurencin, that I stand here a PROUD, Chemical Engineering Undergraduate Major. I love the Math, the Design Classes and of course, CHEMISTRY! Dr. Laurencin has encouraged me to go the FULL route. I plan on getting my Masters, and Doctorate in Neuro-Surgical Medicine.

I really would like to work within this field of Neural Engineering Research. My drive is based off of my oldest brother, Robert. He has been struggling with a terrible cannabis addiction and I know that it tears away a piece of my mother (Sherrie), each and every day. My family has not been the same since his addiction has been exposed. It is especially hard because he does not feel he has an addiction. If there was only a way to scientifically fix this issue. The issue of chemicals releasing pleasure feelings toward negative substances in a human’s brain; this is what I want to work on. I just want to help other families get through what I am going through. I have positive and optimistic beliefs towards finding a surgical treatment for this issue. For any one who is struggling with addition, whether it is with food, liquor, sex or narcotics.

My drive and passion for this is beyond measure. I have developed a deep love for Limb Regenerative Research. I believe in building up the Minority community and not only proving to the world, but also proving to the Minority community that success in education is unfailingly possible, if you keep at it.

I know that excellence is within every cell in my body. But, I believe that to be perfected in a certain area, it takes shadowing under a perfected Professional.I am so eager to get experience, to learn more about the power of cells and about the mending world of Technology and Science. I know that I will be able to contribute to more scientific breakthroughs and also learn, hands on, about what the life of a Scientist is like. I am a beautiful spirited person, great-listener, out-going and very receptive to criticism. I feel these are the essential qualities needed for interns in a lab. I believe that a team with strong communicative skills is always rigged to be the strongest because through communication comes qualitative understanding. Communicating is the key to achieving actively listening, which is always important in a lab for safety and for maximum results in a case study experiment. Effective people who communicate tend to steer clear of distractions.
