Volunteering
-
As a Student Volunteer with Swasthya Vidya Vahini (SVV) in India from September 2017 to August 2018, I actively participated in one of the country's largest public health education initiatives. Working alongside a diverse team of students and field staff, we covered 48 villages in Chandragiri Mandal each month, focusing on essential health topics like WASH, communicable and non-communicable diseases, personal hygiene, anemia, reproductive and child health, nutrition, physical literacy, substance abuse, and environmental sanitation. I prepared health profiles for the assigned village, informing officials about disease spread reasons, while educating pregnant women and new mothers on women's health and raising awareness about government facilities available to support them. My time as an SVV Student Volunteer was incredibly fulfilling, as I dedicated myself to improving public health and empowering communities with vital knowledge.
