About
My name is Quézia and I am an international student from the countryside of Brazil majoring in Journalism with a minor in Linguistics at the University of Kentucky. I am a First-Generation Student and the first in my family to get into an airplane to achieve my dream of studying abroad. I am also the first in my small town to be fluent in a second language. I taught myself English to get the chance to go beyond borders.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
The biggest purpose of my job path is to be an international reporter. To be more specific, I want to travel the world to the most remote places and give the common people the voice that they deserve. Community and International Journalism summarize who I am: a person who aims to be part of a real democracy by giving space to people to be heard and seen.
- Graduate school interests
I am looking forward to doing my MA in Literature and Creative Writing at the University of Oxford. My plan is to learn more about how to communicate through written pieces so that I can help my small community in the interior of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to be literate (which is a minority) and active in their critical thinking.
- Outside the classroom
I love learning new languages on my own and I do love teaching them to people who cannot pay for a course. I also enjoy writing poems and novels both in Portuguese and in English.
