About

My professional goals are to make a difference in the world. I plan to earn a BA and MA in Social Work and hope to study abroad during my time in college. My previous experience of working with children through the Teacher Cadet program and my involvement with my community through NSCS, NHS, and FCCLA have prepared me for success down this path. Before I graduate I want to have experience in working with diverse groups of people and I want to be well rounded in my studies.

Honors and awards

  • national honor society

I participated in this society two years in high school and participated in many volunteer activities.

  • honor roll

I was on the honor roll all four years of high school. I challenged myself throughout by taking all honors/AP courses and always maintained a 3.7 GPA or higher.

  • rookie of the year

I was chosen out of all new members of the 2015-2016 CSU Golden Poms dance team to accept this award. I treasure this award because I pushed myself all year at a collegiate level.

  • FCCLA

I competed in an event for fccla when I was involved in my teacher cadet course senior year.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I have always had a passion for working with children. I recently switched from an Early Childhood Education major to Social Work because I decided that although I don't want to teach my whole life, I still want to work with children. As of right now I am interested in working with at-risk youth in a hospital setting or in the foster care system/with an adoption agency. I am currently involved in a practicum class where I will be working with a mentor in an assisted living facility. If I decide that I have a passion for working with an older population, this could be a possible path that I go down as well.

Graduate school interests

I would like to get my masters in social work either through the five year program offered at Colorado State University or I would like to further my studies out of state.

Outside the classroom

CSU Golden Poms: My commitment for dance has continued into college. After completing four years of poms in high school, I have learned how to balance academics with athletics. I decided to tryout the end of my senior year to dance at the collegiate level and I made the 2015-2016 CSU Golden Poms team. I have participated in school events, football games, basketball games, volleyball games, and CSU band events throughout my first year of college. I'm thankful for the opportunity everyday to do something that I love for the school that I love.
