Howdy! My name is Rebecca McIlwain and I am a Marine Biology major at Texas A&M Galveston. I love the ocean but specifically the animals that call it home. I help rehabilitate injured sea turtles and love political science. I’m creative, open minded, and dedicated.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I would love to continue working with marine mammals or marine vertebrates whether that be in taking care of the animals or rehabilitating them.
- Graduate school interests
I am not entirely sure yet, but I know I love marine mammals, evolutionary studies, and the deep sea. I feel they could all go together in their own way.
- Outside the classroom
I am an artist and I have been drawing since I can remember, but more than that I love writing. I especially love touching on societal and political issues as well as creative writing.
Volunteering

I feed the turtles, clean their tanks, and work with their water filtration systems.
