Grad School Interests

In the summer of 2018, I was given an opportunity for advancement and moved into a director role, overseeing an integrated care team at a federally qualified health center. After years of being at large health systems, I finally felt the joy and challenges of caring for an under-served population. Through these experiences, I was able to realize that my passion resides in creating sustainable systems to ensure the right care to the right patient at the right time, in the form of high quality, low cost patient care services. Through my nursing background and experience in shared savings/risk-based contracting, the Master of Science in Nursing: Leadership in Health Systems Management will give me the suite of knowledge to continue striving for sustainable healthcare systems while pairing mission to margin.

Intended Job Path

As a team-oriented healthcare provider, I am motivated to assist in the development of programs whose focus is to add value for patients and families, team members, and the organization by linking patients to quality medical care, supportive behavioral health care, community resources, and self-management education to support optimal health. Striving for positive outcomes through chronic care management and promoting wellness, while meeting the patient where he/she is at.
