About

I have overcome significant challenges throughout my life that have shaped my work ethic, discipline, and resilience. At one point, I experienced homelessness and lacked basic resources such as reliable transportation. Despite these obstacles, I earned a basketball scholarship, which allowed me to pursue higher education and continue building a better future.

Due to my circumstances, I made the decision to enlist in the United States Army, where I developed leadership skills and personal accountability. During my service, I achieved the rank of Sergeant and graduated from Air Assault School. After completing my military service, I went on to earn my associate degree, further demonstrating my commitment to education and personal growth.

Following my military service, I transitioned into law enforcement, where I have continued to break barriers and grow as a leader. I became the first female Patrol Commander and the first female SWAT operator at my previous agency. I currently serve as a Detective Sergeant and SWAT Sergeant, and I am also the first female SWAT operator in the history of the Tallassee Police Department. I take great pride in being the first woman to serve in these roles and strive to build a strong legacy while paving the way for other women to break barriers and pursue leadership positions in law enforcement.

Academically, I am completing my bachelor’s degree in Sports Management at Troy University, maintaining a GPA above 3.0. I have been accepted into Faulkner University’s Master of Science in Justice Administration program upon graduating from Troy University on May 15, 2026, where I plan to continue advancing my education and leadership abilities.

In addition to my professional and academic responsibilities, I volunteer as a basketball coach at Saint James School, where I mentor and support young athletes. I believe in leading by example, giving back to the community, and helping others reach their potential. As a mother of five, I have learned to balance the demands of family, career, and education, which has further strengthened my discipline, time management, and resilience.

Overall, my journey reflects perseverance, determination, and a strong commitment to service.

Goals and interests

Career goal

My intended career path is to transition into federal law enforcement, where I can utilize my experience in investigations, leadership, and tactical operations. At the same time, I plan to pursue a law degree in order to deepen my knowledge of the legal system. My ultimate goal is to become an attorney, allowing me to combine real-world law enforcement experience with legal expertise to better serve the justice system and advocate effectively within it. In addition, I plan to continue coaching basketball, as it allows me to mentor young athletes, give back to my community, and positively influence the next generation.

Graduate school interests

My graduate studies will be pursued at Faulkner University, where I have already applied and plan to begin the Justice Administration program on June 29, 2026.

Outside the classroom

My hobbies include shooting, working out, spending time training with my family, playing sports with my children, coaching basketball, and crocheting.

Experience

  • security police/swat

I have over six years of law enforcement experience, in counting, during which I have progressed from Patrol Officer to Patrol Commander and SWAT Operator. • I volunteer as a basketball coach at Saint James School for the girls’ league, a competitive program that allows younger athletes to grow and compete in basketball.
