About

I am currently a student at Humboldt State University, where I study Environmental Science: Ecological Restoration Option. I intend on pursuing higher education hopefully at Oregon State University in the Plant Pathology department. I am approaching my final year at HSU, and am starting the process of researching about graduate school advisors and programs. I am currently trying to narrow down my interests, and really find what questions I want to answer in graduate school. What questions I want to answer and research will hopefully lead to a multiple publications dealing with plant pathology.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I would absolutely love to eventually own and operate my own native plant nursery. Along with a native plant nursery I plan on finding a job as a Botanist or plant pathologist for cereal grain crops. I grew up around agriculture, and ultimately hope to pursue a career dealing with the science behind agriculture and nursery crops

Graduate school interests

Oregon State University- Plant Pathology: Introduction and control of diseases on cereal grain crops, foliar diseases on grasses grown for seed, management of diseases and pathogens in ornamental plants, nursery crops, and horticulture.

Outside the classroom

Outside of academics, I love to spend time in the outdoors hiking, fishing, hunting, and backpacking. I also thoroughly enjoy the challenge and creativity in woodworking to create furniture and cabinets. At home board games with friends and family are always a plus.
