Salsabil Soliman

My name is Salsabil, I am 18 years old and I am from Egypt. Currently, I am at the end of my freshmen year at ASU majoring in robotics engineering, I am currently studying from my home country because of Covid. I manage to finish my high school education (IG system) with three A-level courses and 7 O-level in only two years. As I wanted to start college earlier but I couldn't meet the minimum age for Arizona state university. So, I had to have a gap year as I wanted to go to ASU because my major will be on the polytechnic campus. So most of my courses will be more practical than theoretical and that exactly what I needed. I wanted to use this gap year to focus more on my hobbies which were martial arts and fashion design. So, I used to train for 6 days per week, and indeed I managed to have 3 belts (green belt) in Aikido and 4 in ninjutsu. Then I started to study fashion design at Fashion & Design Center -FDC. It was 240 hours course with a certified certificate from the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Italian Institute of Bergo. But unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish it because of Covid-19. I also succeeded to be on the dean's list in my second semester at ASU (the fall semester). Also, when I was in grade 7, there was an Arduino competition and my team won first place. when I was in grade 9, I moved to another school, and each member of my team won a super student gold medal in the super student competition. Since I was young my dream was to become a scientist and this dream became stronger when my chemistry professor told me "you will be a scientist" without knowing anything about my dream. My goal now is to build my skills and have an internship in the next year also, I am planning to finish my graduate study just after my undergraduate with the 4+1 program that ASU offers. I will also add a minor in engineering management in the fall of 2022 as I won't have room for it this year because I want to gain management skills early which I believe is necessary for my career. My dream job is to work at Boston dynamics after I finish my studies. I want to start my carrier life early to be responsible for myself financially and of course to help my family as well.
