Samantha Elferdink

I’m interested in helping a company maintain existing business with current clients, grow business relationships, and assist in bringing new clients on board. I have a passion for working with people and a knack for making sure customers’ expectations are met. My academic background in subjects such as finance, marketing, and economics along with their practical applications in my recent internships have equipped me with a notably well-rounded skill set. This unique skill set will allow me to view problems through multiple perspectives and invent creative and efficient solutions to problematic incidents that may challenge me during the course of an internship. I believe I will serve best in a position dealing directly with clientele due to my warm demeanor and interpersonal communication skills that help me bring a level of empathy and comfort customers who require high levels of attention.

As you can see from my resume, my recent internships have provided me the opportunity to express my talents in professional settings thus equipping with me the tools necessary for future success in these fields. Currently, I am a business operations intern for Eventplicity. Eventplicity is a local startup that captures inquiries, engages customers, and generates booking revenue for venues to provide an end-to-end sales system for event bookings. This position continues to equip me with essential business knowledge to develop marketing strategies on interdepartmental, business-to-business, and client levels. My business and communication skills have proved to be sufficient not only to work in a professional environment, but also to exercise initiative in independently resolving issues the business may face. Furthermore, in December of 2015, I began a marketing internship with Hooked Deals, a food and drink deals app targeted at college campuses. I collaborated with business owners to create exciting deals during non-peak hours. The time sensitive offers created a sense of urgency and delivered customers during targeted hours. Within this position, I worked independently and collaboratively within a team environment gaining a strong desire to truly dive into the core operations of a business.
