Goals and interests

Career goal

As a younger student, Kurdas was discouraged from the field of philosophy with its lack of representation of women and people of color. Discouraged, she found herself on a winding road, earning her B.S. in Digital Audiences and learning much about marketing, analytics, and digital art. A rise in humane technology's influence has since rekindled her passion for philosophy. Now Kurdas has ambitions to receive her Ph.D. in Philosophy to teach higher education courses in online settings.

In particular, Kurdas aims to build 100 level philosophy curriculum in a unique way that essentially "removes the artist from their art." Kurdas's teaching style aspires to hone in on inquiry over authorization, training students to think critically and problem-solve to develop their own solutions and arguments before comparing their work to the great thinkers throughout our time.

Graduate school interests

Kurdas aims to work toward her Ph.D. in Epistemology at the University of Edinburgh, 2024 but is interested and open to other University programs.

Outside the classroom

Kurdas's hobbies are taking long walks, hiking, biking, hammocking, writing poetry, reading books and WIRED magazine, cooking vegan cuisine, building playlists around independent artists new music, and listening to podcasts about emerging technologies.
