Sammantha Gilbert

I am currently a Child Studies and Early Childhood Education student at Post University in Waterbury, CT. I am studying to be an elementary school teacher with a Masters in special education and Autism. I grew up in Renton, WA, where my mother worked in the corporate world and my father worked in trade. I am a first generation college student and have dreamed of being a teacher since I was a little girl. It was not until recently that I found my calling as a Para Professional in a Special Education classroom. This is my second chance at college, at following my dreams. In my years of higher education, I have joined a number of clubs, including Delta Phi Epsilon, Alpha Chi, a national honors society, and The National Society of Leadership and Success. I have worked tirelessly to be successful in my pursuit of my education and that of the students I work with.
