About

A highly motivated and enthusiastic graduate research assistant with four years of experience in disease management of different crops, especially in potato, seeking a career position to further develop expertise and experience in the field of Plant Pathology. Extensive knowledge in experimental design, implementation, maintenance, and data collection, analysis and interpretation. Interested in diagnosis, epidemiology, pathogen population diversity, disease forecasting, plant-microbe interaction, fungicide resistance, and management of diseases caused by fungi and oomycetes on vegetable and horticultural crops.
Skills:
*DNA Extraction *Isolation/identification/characterization of crop pathogen
*PCR *Histological analysis of potato periderm
*Quantitative real time PCR *Fungicide sensitivity test of different pathogens
*Gel electrophoresis *MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint, SAS, R, R-Studio, JMP software

Goals and interests

Career goal

Research Associate/Scientist

Graduate school interests

My research interest includes disease diagnosis, epidemiology, population diversity of pathogen, disease forecasting, plant-microbe interaction, fungicide resistance, disease management of vegetables with emphasis on diseases caused by fungi and oomycetes. I am more concerned about the pathogen of economically important vegetable and field crops. My specific interest are in epidemiology, monitoring/characterizing population diversity of the pathogen and their fungicide sensitivity test. As I have developed skills such as DNA extraction, microsatellite analysis, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), quantitative real time PCR, sequencing, I am interested in studying the pathogens causing diseases of vegetable, horticultural and field crops at molecular level. In addition to the above mentioned interests, I have also interest on Loop mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) PCR.
