Sani Smith

My name is Sani Smith, and I am a determined senior at James Madison High School on track to graduate in May 2026. I began my high school journey at Paulding County High School, where I joined Army ROTC as a 9th grader and quickly developed a passion for leadership, discipline, and service. In the second semester of 10th grade, I transferred to Villa Rica High School and continued my ROTC experience in the Air Force program through the end of my junior year.
During my time in ROTC, I earned multiple awards and promotions for excellence in volunteering, personal appearance, saber guard, physical fitness, rifle marksmanship, and many other areas. These experiences taught me the value of teamwork, resilience, and commitment—skills I continue to apply every day.
After facing personal challenges, I transitioned to online schooling at James Madison High School. I completed all junior- and senior-year requirements in just one month while working full-time to cover my tuition and living expenses entirely on my own. With no external support, this journey has strengthened my independence and drive to succeed. I am now actively seeking scholarships to help ease the financial burden and allow me to focus fully on my future goals.
I am proud of the path I have carved and excited to bring the same dedication and leadership to the honor society.
