My name is Sara Messenger and I am a clinical dental hygienist working at a private dental office in Garden City New York. Currently, I am pursuing a degree in the Doctor of Health Science program at the University of Bridgeport on the education track.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
My intended job path is to teach in higher education. As a dental hygienist, it is my passion and joy to teach prospective hygienists do develop the knowledge and skill necessary to pursue a career in this dynamic field.
- Graduate school interests
Grad school interests include continued growth and learning. I am interested in better understanding various teaching methodologies and how they can be applied to help students learn better.
- Outside the classroom
Spending time with my dogs, swimming, kayaking, and reading. I also enjoy volunteering at community events. Recently I went to Guatemala to provide dental care for children and adults in need.
