About

Hello, my name is Savannah Dahlin and I am currently an undergraduate at the University of Minnesota. I recently graduated with honors from Hopkins High School. In High School, I spent much of my time working with and in DECA. I was in DECA for three years, was an officer, made it to state each year, and won various awards for our chapter. Through DECA, I was able to briefly start my own bakery. With this, I was able to meet with other like-minded businessmen and women through seminars, training groups, and more. Also in High School, I was able to do two years of PSEO at the University of Minnesota. With this, I have already accumulated 45 credits and am excited to continue my education in the Fall.

I have worked in a couple different fields throughout the years. I first began as a dance teaching assistant and camp counselor at Chanhassen Dance; I eventually became an instructor when I got older. I had danced there as well since I was about 3 and eventually quit in 2011 to seek other interests. As noted, I also started up my own bakery than I ran for about a year and half. I would recieve orders and would make decorated cake-pops. I decided not to continue with the business for multiple reasons. At the moment, I am a nanny for two children: a 2 year-old girl and a 6 year-old boy. I hope to continue this work until my semester begins again in the fall.

In the Fall, I hope to continue learning American Sign Language and would love to start learning French again; I took French for 4 years in High school. I also hope to take more writing classes and hope to continue to write in my personal time. I am excited to go to a school that many of my relatives have attended including my father, multiple cousins, and grandfather; my grandfather, Robert "Bob" Ulrich went on to be the CEO of Target for many years and helped found the Musical Instrument Museum in Arizona. I look up to them greatly and hope to follow in their footsteps of happiness and success. I know I can do a lot with my education as all my family did with theirs.

Goals and interests

Career goal

My future plans at the moment are undecided, but I have a couple ideas for what I would like to do. I would like to possibly become an interpreter, a writer, a teacher, or work in a field where I can study and talk about ancient history; perhaps in a museum.

Outside the classroom

I love reading and writing short stories and poetry. Some day I hope to publish some of my work. I love photography and making videos. I hope to get better equipment so I can further this endeavor. I have also been learning American Sign Language for 3 years and hope to become fluent in the language someday.
