About

I am a graduate student at the University of Texas at San Antonio pursuing my MBA with a concentration in Project Management. After finishing my BS in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, I felt that a higher degree in the business field would prepare me to excel in the engineering industry. Considering the largest obstacles in engineering are program and project management, I felt that this would put me in a perfect position to lead a successful team in an engineering company, maybe even my own.

Goals and interests

Career goal

My intended job path begins at an entry level engineering position, preferably at an automotive or aerospace company. After learning and experiencing the structure of that particular company, I would apply my knowledge from school to improve upon the project management structure. This pursuit would be assisted and guided by the existing project managers, and their mentoring would help me achieve a project management position of my own.

Graduate school interests

During my time at UTSA, as an MBA student, has allowed me to explore the various activities available to me. In particular, the UTSA Society of Automotive Engineers, an organization that simulates an automotive manufacturing company and competes internationally, was a perfect fit for me. I quickly inserted myself into the team, and achieved the officer position of Project Manager, as well as the Chassis Design Lead. This organization has allowed me to utilize the engineering knowledge I gained in my undergraduate engineering degree, while applying new concepts I learn in the classroom regarding business concepts, like financial and project management.

Outside the classroom

I occupy my free time with sports, the automotive world, and other activities. Currently, I am learning how to surf during my time in San Diego, CA. While in San Antonio, TX, I try and improve my driving skill and automotive understanding by working on my personal vehicle and trying out new things on a race track. I also enjoy finding new local restaurants no matter where I am.
