Selchia Cain

After spending a year in China teaching journalism as an adjunct professor at Sichuan International Studies University I found confirmation in my career path. In the fall of 2016 I will begin my masters of communication studies at Iowa State University. I will be studying to be a university professor of communications. My experience abroad has helped further shape my interest in diversity, communication leadership and international communications. I am passionate about serving my community in ways that empower and encourage others. Throughout my undergraduate career I worked for Drake University's Student Associate for Working Group for the Infusion of Global and Multicultural Understanding. I enjoy using my communication skills to help non-profit organizations grow their brand. In the past I have volunteered my graphic design and public relations skills to work with Dress for Success Des Moines and the CFUM’s Whyld Girls Program.
