About
I am currently a high school senior at New West Charter School in Los Angeles, California. I spent my early years in Nigeria, but I returned to the United States when I was about four. My exposure to many different cultures and persuasions through travel, and this city, has led me to value social justice and political activism. I founded Gay-Straight Alliance in my sophomore year of high school. Since then, I have done interviews for Good Morning America, Gay Times, and Vice Magazine championing queer rights and visibility. I was accepted and committed to Columbia University this year and plan to attend in the fall. I intend to enter the law field, and Columbia’s expansive core curriculum would provide me with an exhaustive body of knowledge from which I can cultivate a well-rounded foundation.

- Outside the classroom
I enjoy thrift-shopping and styling clothes. I am a content creator on the social media platform Tiktok. I have an account dedicated to avante-garde fashion and queer rights activism which has amassed over 250,000 followers. I also enjoy reading political theory and nonfiction literature.
Volunteering
-
I was the girls' volleyball team manager. I helped train the team. I taught recruits about volleyball rotations and spiking form. I went to all of their matches and helped advise the coach during games. I also often worked with the scoreboard, kept tally in our record book, and refereed the boundary lines.

I was an assistant at my alma mater. Over summer break, I helped my middle school with its admissions process by recounting my warm memories of the school to prospective students at orientation sessions. In the final weeks of City School's initial residence, I visited every other weekday to aid my former teachers. Together we cleaned rooms, packed boxes, and transported materials to the new premises.
