A national honor society designed for transfer students

Career goal: My intended career path is to become a school social worker! I have always had a passion for helping students, so I am very excited to becoming closer to my dream job. My initial major was secondary social science education, but I decided teaching was not the route I wanted to take to help students the best to my ability. I decided I would pursue social work, and I have loved it every since. It has truly lit a passion that I am beyond proud to have.
Graduate school interests: I am looking to enter into a MSW program. With a MSW I can become a school social worker and fulfill my biggest goal yet.
Outside the classroom: Some of my hobbies include playing sports, video games, reading, listening to music, and trying to teach myself how to play piano! Since I was little I have always wanted to play the piano, but I never took lessons. This past year because of the Covid-19 pandemic, I decided to buy a keyboard and practice. I'm not that good but it is a work in progress!

My mother is a special education teaching assistant, so I would frequently visit her and assist the teachers. I loved the experiences I was able to have with both the students and staff. Visiting the classroom taught me a lot about how to interact with students in a classroom environment. I was fortunate to have those experiences because they taught me something I can take with me into my own career.
