Shaniece Craig

I have been going to college at Suffolk County Community College the Grant campus since the summer of 2015. Here is where I take part of many extra activities as well as volunteer work. I participated on the finance committee for our student government for the school year of 2016/17. I attended the monthly student government meetings. I participated in the Rotary club where we did various of volunteer work on campus and for our outside community. I have been part of EOP, educational opportunity program since the summer of 2015 through the early summer college program where we have coordinated with the outreach program and also have done various of volunteer work for our outside community. Next year, for my last year at Suffolk I got accepted to be a CAB member which means I'm going to be on the campus activities board, as well as still take part of the monthly student government meetings, Rotary club and the EOP program. I'm also a peer mentor where I assist those who need help around campus, talk at orientations, give tours and help make students schedules. As well as being a peer mentor I'm also a work study student for the EOP program in their office doing office work. Outside volunteer work I do through the Good Shepherd Hospice where we participate in a three day summer camp in July and a hotel holiday party in December for kids who have lost a loved one close to them to help cope through holidays and the summer time when they're off from school. I also gather some of my friends to help me at my church, Presbyterian church of Islip with Christmas wrapping every December for twenty plus families and also throughout the year when they need help in the food pantry some weekends.
