Shannon Walden

I’m a recent graduate of Southern New Hampshire University, where I earned my B.S. in Computer Science with a 3.85 GPA. I’ve just been accepted into SNHU’s M.S. in Computer Science program, with a concentration in Artificial Intelligence, a field I’ve become deeply passionate about.

Before transitioning into tech, I spent over 12 years working in the film industry after earning my first bachelor’s degree in Film from Hofstra University, along with a minor in Computer Science. What began as a “backup plan” quickly became my main focus as I discovered a genuine passion for programming, problem-solving, and emerging technologies.

During my undergraduate studies at SNHU, I was introduced to machine learning and artificial intelligence. I was inspired not only by the rapid pace of innovation but also by the potential for these tools to positively impact society. At the same time, I became increasingly aware of the ethical implications and potential risks if AI development goes unchecked. This realization motivated me to further my education in the field and contribute to building responsible, ethical, and human-centered AI solutions.

My goal is to be part of the next generation of technologists who prioritize transparency, fairness, and accountability in AI. I believe strongly that innovation and ethics must go hand in hand and I’m committed to proving that through my work and continued education.
