About

Hello. My name is Sheila Joy Norada-Quia. I am currently enrolled at The University of Texas at Arlington taking my last pre-requisite for the Accelerated Online Bachelor of Science in Nursing. To become a Registered Nurse (RN) is a dream of mine since I was in high school. I came from a family of nurses who are very caring, compassionate and emphatic towards others. My family members inspired me to become a nurse just like them. I believe that nursing is a "calling" and deep in my heart this is the only "calling" that I am meant to do for the rest of my life. Why do I want to become a nurse? My reason for becoming an RN is to make a difference in patient's health, help them become better, walk with them during their medical needs and become advocate for their wellness. Other people say you make alot of money in nursing. For me, financial gain from being a nurse is not what I am achieving in becoming a nurse. To see patient's get well happy and walk out the hospital door is the greatest achievement that I would like to have. My ultimate goal is to become a Nurse Practitioner specializing in adult, geriatrics and acute care. I believe that to become a Nurse Practitioner will not only help me become a patient's advocate but also as somebody who can help them heal.
