About
Currently I am a full-time college student working toward earning my Bachelor’s degree in business administration with a leadership cognate. While working in a temporary capacity as a clerk in the Department of Revenue Athens Regional Office, my manager encouraged me to pursue my education because of the potential he saw in my skills. In January of 2015, I enrolled at Liberty University in their accounting program, which I completed in July of 2016 with Dean’s List status. I intend to complete my Bachelor's of Science by December of 2017.
As a young adult, I began my professional work experience as a temp doing accounts payable, accounts receivable, data entry, and all aspects of administrative assistance. After getting married, I chose to be a stay-at-home mom to raise my children. In combination with my initial work experience and volunteer work over the past 30 years, I have more than ten years of experience in the field of accounting and office management.
In addition to my knowledge of basic mathematical and accounting principles, my skills include auto and insurance sales, retail sales and management within the health and wellness industry. I also have over 20 years of leadership experience in a volunteer capacity through ministry and community service. I have begun several different organizations throughout my time in ministry to assist homeschoolers, the homeless, prisoner’s children, and community youth.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
My intended job path is one of entrepreneurship in creating an organization that partners with local businesses to assist victims of domestic violence with job skills assessment, on the job training, counseling, and child care. Leadership skills are important to possess within any field of business if one desires success. As such, my goal is to provide domestic violence victims the opportunity to develop the necessary leadership skills for work and home so they can effectively provide for their families financially, physically, psychologically, and spiritually.
- Graduate school interests
Currently, I do not have any grad school interests. That is not to say I never will. I am completely open to any opportunity afforded to me at the appropriate time.
- Outside the classroom
When I was 9 years old, after begging my parents for two years, I began taking piano lessons and have not stopped playing since. This is my favorite hobby. Over the years, with the demands of motherhood and such, I developed a love of reading as the most relaxing and quiet of past times. Making clothes for me and my children, as well as quilts has also been a fulfilling hobby of mine. In recent years, as an extension of my love of reading, I have picked up on historical research. I also enjoy writing, hiking, cooking, geocaching, and searching for unique antiques and old buildings.
