About
My name is Sierra Doherty, I was born and raised in Rapid City, South Dakota. I am currently a South Dakota State University student pursuing a dietetic degree. I have worked at the YMCA of Rapid City from 2016-present. I have shown a great level of commitment to the YMCA as I have worked in various departments like aquatics (lifeguard, swim instructor), child watch, childcare, kid stop, summer camp, and wellness.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
After receiving my dietetic degree, I plan on searching for a position within in a hospital setting. Specifically, I would like to work with clients that have underlying conditions like obesity, high blood pressure or cholesterol, heart disease, and diabetes. I am interested in working as a bariatric or cardiovascular dietician.
- Graduate school interests
I am currently in my third year of college at South Dakota State University. I plan on continuing my education towards a master's degree at SDSU in order to develop and strengthen my dietary knowledge, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Outside the classroom
During my free time, I enjoy spending time in The Black Hills, SD.
