About

My Name is Sierra Yochum, I am currently a senior at Okay High School and also taking concurrent classes and Northeastern State University in Tahlequah OK. I have received many awards during my High School years. I have over come some difficult times while in School, in November 2014 I was in an accident which resulted in the amputation of my right pinky finger. I made the decision that this was not going to stop me from doing the things I wanted to do or achieve the goals I set forth for myself. I have always played basketball, so the traumatic amputation of a finger could certainly have hampered me, however I made my mind up not only to play but retain my starting position. I was back on the court in a month and came out as a starter on my first game back. I also competed in the district FCCLA competition 3 days after my amputation and won 1st place. My future goals are to attend Oklahoma state University, major in Biology then continue on to Medical school from there.
