About
I am the picture on the poster stating, "It's Never Too Late". I decided to return to school in order to complete what I started over 40 years ago. I am a 61 year old Legal Studies major at Kaplan University and have one term left (two courses) and I will have earned my BS in Legal Studies. My passion has always been the law and had aspirations of becoming an attorney. Being young and somewhat undisciplined, I decided to drop out in my Junior year and return home to Los Angeles. It is amazing how quickly time flies, I looked up and after having two daughters, put them through college, and losing both of my parents, I had to reach deep inside and stir up that same passion that the 20 year old Stephanie once had, and finish what I started. It is a personal goal because I always knew I should have finished earlier and it is a goal I plan to reach. The upside is my life experience that I have under my belt and I want to be able to combine that experience with academic excellence. I have strived to do my very best in every course I have undertaken because I am allergic to mediocrity or average. I look forward to being able to get my foot in the door and surround myself with those that are like-minded and from whom I can learn.

- Career goal
I intend to start working with non-profit legal services that can be of assistance to those in society that cannot afford expensive legal services. Family Law and Elder Law are specific areas that I may be interested in. I am also interested in working with organizations that focus on the innocent who are incarcerated, e.g. Innocence Project.
- Graduate school interests
I plan on getting my Masters Degree in Legal Studies
- Outside the classroom
I love all types of music, jazz, gospel, pop, country. I love to read non-fiction books about history and historical figures.
I love learning new things and traveling to new places. I've been to Cancun, Jamaica, Hawaii and will be in Mazatlan in May.
I enjoy speaking and am honing my skills to be a more effective, informative and engaging speaker on topics that I am familiar with and may be able to help others.
