About

Hi! My name is Stephanie Fisher and I was born and raised in the hills of West Virginia. I grew up in a household of 4, my mom, dad, older brother and myself; me being the only individual to go on to achieve a college education. After I finished high school I left home to attend Shepherd College to obtain a degree in nursing. However, after one year I changed my mind and decided to pursue a career in dental hygiene. I switched colleges, but was put on a waiting list for the dental hygiene program. Was this a sign that God had other plans for me? At that time I decided that I did need to become a nurse, so I enrolled in the nursing program at Lord Fairfax Community College. I obtained my Associates Degree in Nursing in 2004 and started practicing in the hospital setting. In 2005 I married my wonderful husband and we started our family! We had our first daughter in July of 2006! I continued to work and gained experience as a Med-Surg nurse, then moved on to the operating room. I worked in the operating room for 6 years and loved working closely with surgeons and other support staff on a multitude of procedures. In 2009 my husband and I were blessed with another daughter! It was in 2011 that I needed a schedule change so I could spend more time with our family, so I took a job in the Home Health field. I then learned that providing nursing care in the home setting was my passion! The bond that is created between a patient and their nurse is special, but when it is in their own setting it is even more special and unique. I have transitioned rolls in Home Health from being a field nurse, to completing chart review and coding, to now a Clinical Care Manager. During that time I felt it was important to further my education, so I went back to school in 2014 at Eastern Mennonite University to obtain my Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. I completed the program in 2016 and had a wonderful experience! I took a short break and dove right back into school 2017 to obtain my Masters of Science Degree in Nursing with a focus in Leadership and Management. I am over half-way finished with the program and learning so much to apply to my current role as a manager. I am looking forward to what the future holds for me professionally!

My hobbies include spending time with my family and friends doing various things such as hiking, fishing, painting pottery, and going to paint events. I also love to cook and bake! My family and I are very involved in the youth livestock program in our county through FFA and 4-H. We spend a lot of time during the spring and summer months going to livestock shows where our children show goats and sheep as a part of their project. Not only is it great experience for them, but for us parents as well.
