About

I graduated from high school in 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdowns, boasting a 3.85 GPA. My academic journey began at LA-Tech University in Ruston, LA, but I soon transitioned to the University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College in Little Rock, AR. At UA-PTC, I managed to graduate in just three semesters with a 3.80 GPA, a feat I accomplished while working 52 hours weekly as an IT technician/Analyst for a local business. This dedication also earned me a spot on the Dean's List for all three semesters.

In the summer of 2022, at the age of 20, I received an AS in Arts and Sciences, majoring in computer science. This achievement was particularly special as it came just months after I married my wonderful wife. Currently, at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, I am part of the pioneering batch of students in the joint Data Science program, a collaboration between the College of Engineering and the Walton College of Business.

My time at the university hasn't just been about academics. I've been an ardent advocate for student rights, especially in a new program that has occasionally faltered in its treatment of students. Collaborating with the Associate Dean of Student Advocacy, I've managed to bring about positive program-level changes. Additionally, on a personal front, I've mentored younger students, ensuring they never feel discouraged in a budding program.

Adding to my accolades, this past summer I secured an internship with Tyson Foods, specifically in their 'Tech at Tyson' division. As an 'Information Technology Technician and Junior Data Analyst' summer intern, I was exposed to a variety of projects that honed my technical skills and business acumen. My dedication and proficiency were recognized, and not only was I invited to return for another summer, but I was also among the select four out of 42 interns to be offered a year-round internship position. This distinction was particularly significant considering the prevailing hiring freeze at the company.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I am keenly focused on two primary career trajectories: first, as a Data Scientist, using AI and machine learning to enable growth in small businesses, and second, venturing into biomedical research, specializing in sequencing natural venoms for the development of antivenoms and related medications.

Graduate school interests

I am fervently considering pursuing an MBA, with an emphasis on leveraging machine learning and AI to bolster small business growth. Simultaneously, my intrigue in biomedical sciences drives me toward researching the sequencing of natural venoms for medical applications. Both paths resonate with my passion for intertwining technology with real-world solutions.

Outside the classroom
