About
My name is Steven Jacobs, a rising senior at Towson University, majoring in Mass Communications with a focus on journalism. I'm also pursuing a minor in Electronic Media and Film Study. Over the years, I have attained experience in effective writing along with the practice of creating appealing news engagement via press and media on multiple social and news platforms. My professional experience creating a multi-media sports news platform, (Swaggy Sports Podcast, which originated in November 2020, and spans Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube) has benefited my ability to cover sports teams. Throughout my college studies, I have mastered technological software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Illustrator, iMovie, Photoshop, and WordPress. I have used these programs to create multiple projects revolving around the presentation of news and advertisements, as well as photography and commercial media for advertising purposes.
In addition to having the innate ability to effectively broadcast sports news information, I will also contribute to in-depth and insightful analysis within the global sports industry. This not only sets me apart to be a top candidate for a position within the sports industry but positions me to be a part of the unique and exclusive few that have the privilege to contribute to the underappreciated necessity of honest and accurate journalism. As a former collegiate football athlete, as well as a three-sport varsity captain during my junior and senior years of high school, I have embedded myself in sports culture since my introduction to recreational sports and have continued to pursue my knowledge and advancement within the niche of professional and amateur sporting.
In reference to my personal sports news media account, I have continued to challenge myself by building a broadcasting network of newsworthy sports information ranging from an assortment of high school, collegiate, and professional athletics. Due to my work ethic, I have been able to effectively engage multiple audiences, allowing myself to break sports news stories to not only local audiences, but also engage a larger and more dispersed fan base. Having an analytical knowledge of reporting sports statistics, designed plays, and strategies within the sports industry, has only reinforced my personal and professional passion. As I continue to learn more about the industrial athletic complex, I am confident that I will contribute to presenting entertaining and informational sports stories as I aspire to become a sports journalist/broadcaster in the future.
